Can sin like fornication, malice, envy, homosexuality etc take a man to the lake of fire?
The problem with this question is that it presuppose what makes a person a sinner hence if they die as an unforgiven sinner then they would ultimately be judged by God, found guilty, and sentenced to an eternity in hell which is the second death or lake of fire.
That is not what the Bible teaches. No one will be casted into the lake of fire because of any of the things you listed. What you listed is the symptom and the cause.
What you really want know is how do one become a sinner and how does one become a forgiven sinner? Let's address the becoming a sinner first based solely on the scriptures.
Psalms 51:5
Behold, I was brought forth in iniquity, and in sin my mother conceived me.
Job 14:2
Who can bring a clean thing out of an unclean? No one!
Psalms 58:3
The wicked are estranged from the womb; they go astray as soon as they are born, speaking lies.
Isaiah 48:8
Surely you did not hear, surely you did not know; surely from long ago your ear was not opened. For I knew that you would deal very treacherously, and were called a transgressor from the womb.
Romans 3:23
for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God,
Romans 5:12 Death in Adam, Life in Christ
(Gen. 3:1–19)
Therefore, just as through one man sin entered the world, and death through sin, and thus death spread to all men, because all sinned—
Romans 5:18a
Therefore, as through one man’s offense judgment came to all men, resulting in condemnation
There you have it, God's explanation of how all humans became sinners. We were born sinners, no acts or behaviors required. How is this confirmed that everyone is born a sinner?
Romans 6:23
For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.
Only sinners die! If you can die you are a sinner. If a baby in the womb can die, it is a sinner. Only sinners die!
Then why the judgments if everyone is a sinner? The judgment is pay each sinner their wages for their own sins, their behavior. This is where it matters how you live. For example, God would be unjust to punish me with the same punishment as say, Hitler, Mao, the serial killer, the child rapist, Hugh Hefner, the homosexual, the demons, or the devil. You may be thinking that those are some really bad people and demons that are listed but God will judge the everyone who has heard the gospel much harder than all those previously listed. He will judge people born in America much harder than people in the jungles of Brazil. Why? Because Americans have much more light, the liberty to hear the gospel than any other nation the world has ever known.
With light comes responsibility. Light rejected receives a greater condemnation. Listen carefully:
Luke 12:47-48
And that servant who knew his master’s will, and did not prepare himself or do according to his will, shall be beaten with many stripes. But he who did not know, yet committed things deserving of stripes, shall be beaten with few. For everyone to whom much is given, from him much will be required; and to whom much has been committed, of him they will ask the more.
Everyone will be judge but not everyone will receive the same severity of judgment.
Revelation 20:11-15; The Great White Throne Judgment
11Then I saw a great white throne and Him who sat on it, from whose face the earth and the heaven fled away. And there was found no place for them. And I saw the dead, small and great, standing before God, and books were opened. And another book was opened, which is the Book of Life. And the dead were judged according to their works, by the things which were written in the books. The sea gave up the dead who were in it, and Death and Hades delivered up the dead who were in them. And they were judged, each one according to his works. Then Death and Hades were cast into the lake of fire. This is the second death. And anyone not found written in the Book of Life was cast into the lake of fire.
Now, how can us sinners who are born condemned to hell, become forgiven sinners who will be given the right to enter heaven with God. What must I do?
What can you do? Nothing! There is no hope for the sinner. "You may be saying, what? Do you mean no one is going to heaven?"
No, that is not what I said. The question is "what must I do and what can I do?", the biblical answer to that is there is nothing the sinner can do. The sinner cannot pray, repent, ask for forgiveness, receive forgiveness, turn over a new leaf, stop sinning, do penance, say a so-called sinners prayer, or any such foolishness for one reason.
1. The sinner is dead! Dead in trespasses and sins. Dead people do not pray, repent, ask, receive, turn over, stop, do, nor say anything! They are dead! Dead in trespasses and sins.
Ephesians 2:1_By Grace Through Faith
And you He made alive, WHO WERE DEAD IN TRESPASSES AND SINS
Ephesians 2:5
even WHEN WE WERE DEAD IN TRESPASSES, made us alive together with Christ (by grace you have been saved),
What does the dead sinner need? A job, health, wealth, prayer, hope, blessings, to go to church services, perform good deeds? Of course not. The dead sinner needs life! How can the dead sinner get life? He can't, God has to voluntarily because He is rich in mercy and have determined to forgive some sinners, without any assistance from the dead sinner, MUST DETERMINE TO GIVE THE DEAD SINNER LIFE!
True biblical salvation is an solo act of God
Ephesians 2:1_By Grace Through Faith
And YOU (THE DEAD SINNER) HE MADE ALIVE, who were dead in trespasses and sins,
But God, who is rich in mercy, because of His great love with which He loved us, even when we were dead in trespasses, made us alive together with Christ (by grace you have been saved), and raised us up together, and made us sit together in the heavenly places in Christ Jesus, that in the ages to come He might show the exceeding riches of His grace in His kindness toward us in Christ Jesus. For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God, not of works, lest anyone should boast. For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand that we should walk in them.
What must the dead sinner in trespasses and sins do to be saved? The only thing he can do. Cry out to God in hope that God would show mercy. "God be merciful to me, the sinner!"
Luke 18:9-14
Also He spoke this parable to some who trusted in themselves that they were righteous, and despised others: “Two men went up to the temple to pray, one a Pharisee and the other a tax collector. The Pharisee stood and prayed thus with himself, ‘God, I thank You that I am not like other men—extortioners, unjust, adulterers, or even as this tax collector. I fast twice a week; I give tithes of all that I possess.’ And the tax collector, standing afar off, would not so much as raise his eyes to heaven, but beat his breast, saying, ‘God, be merciful to me the sinner!’ I tell you, this man went down to his house justified rather than the other; for everyone who exalts himself will be humbled, and he who humbles himself will be exalted.”
2 Tim. 2:25-26 states that it is not up to the sinner to accept God, that is impossible, but for God to determine to show mercy.
in humility correcting those who are in opposition, IF GOD PERHAPS WILL GRANT THEM REPENTANCE, so that they may know the truth, and that they may come to their senses and escape the snare of the devil, having been taken captive by him to do his will.
If God grants the dead sinner repentance, God will create within the sinner's body a new human spirit giving life to the forgiven sinner.
2 Corinthians 5:17, 21 Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, HE IS A NEW CREATION; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new...for He made Him who knew no sin to be sin for us, that we might become the righteousness of God in Him.
Cry out to God!
