God reveals His plan of salvation in Genesis 1

2.28.25 God reveals His plan of Salvation in Genesis 1.

Death to life and darkness to light

There is a theme that traverse through the entirety of scriptures. That theme seems to always start with the problem then God provides the solution.

Have you noticed that things go from dark to light, from death to life, from hopelessness to hope, from dead to alive, from wrath to love, and from enemy to child.

Why? Why did God have the writers include these types of themes in this order?

Let’s look at several examples in Genesis chapter 1.

1. Without form = no life

2. Void = no hope

3. Darkness = no light

What does that sound like to you? To me it sounds like a description of the sinner. According to the scriptures the sinner has several problems. The sinner is dead in trespasses and sins.

Dead = Problem: Will perish

Ephesians 2:1 - And you HE MADE ALIVE, who were DEAD IN TRESPASSES AND SINS,

Colossians 2:13 - And you, BEING DEAD IN YOUR TRESPASSES and the uncircumcision of your flesh, HE HAS MADE ALIVE together with Him, having forgiven you all trespasses,

Dead = Solution: Will live

John 3:15 - that whoever believes in Him should NOT PERISH but have eternal (God’s kind of) LIFE.

John 10:28 - And I give them eternal LIFE, and they shall NEVER PERISH; neither shall anyone snatch them out of My hand.

John 3:36 - He who believes in the Son HAS everlasting (God’s kind of) LIFE; and he who does not believe the Son SHALL NOT SEE LIFE, but the WRATH (this is what God means by perish) of God (continually) abides on him.”

John 10:10 - The thief does not come except to steal, and to kill, and to destroy. I HAVE COME THAT THEY MAY HAVE LIFE, and that they may have it (It? Yes, that kind of Life which is Christ) more abundantly (as much of Christ as you desire).

Void = Problem: no hope

Ephesians 2:12 - that at that time you were without Christ, being aliens from the commonwealth of Israel and strangers from the covenants of promise, HAVING NO HOPE and without God in the world (you and I were willing participants).

1 Thessalonians 4:13 - But I do not want you to be ignorant, brethren, concerning those who have fallen asleep, lest you sorrow AS OTHERS WHO HAVE NO HOPE.

Void = Solution: Christ is our only hope

Romans 5:1-2 - Therefore, having been justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ, through whom also we have access by faith into this grace in which we stand, and rejoice in hope of the glory of God.

Colossians 1:26-27 - the mystery which has been hidden from ages and from generations, but now has been revealed to His saints. To them God willed to make known what are the riches of the glory of this mystery among the Gentiles: which is Christ in you, the hope of glory.

1 Timothy 1:1 - Paul, an apostle of Jesus Christ, by the commandment of God our Savior and the Lord Jesus Christ, our hope,

Darkness = no light, ever

Ephesians 5:8 - For you were once darkness, but now you are light in the Lord. Walk as children of light

John 3:19 - And this is the condemnation, that the light has come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil.

Luke 1:79 - To give light to those who sit in darkness and the shadow of death, To guide our feet into the way of peace.”

Acts 26:18 - to open their eyes, in order to turn them from darkness to light, and from the power of Satan to God, that they may receive forgiveness of sins and an inheritance among those who are sanctified by faith in Me.’

Darkness = Solution: God gives Light

2 Corinthians 4:6 - For it is the God who commanded light to shine out of darkness, who has shone in our hearts to give the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ.

Ephesians 5:8 - For you were once darkness, but now you are light in the Lord. Walk as children of light

1 Thessalonians 5:4-5 - But you, brethren, are not in darkness, so that this Day should overtake you as a thief. You are all sons of light and sons of the day. We are not of the night nor of darkness.

Then God intervenes through the Holy Spirit to change it and us. Here is a question for you to consider. Who was responsible for this change, this metamorphosis? Verse 1 tells us that God alone was responsible.

Why then would God do such a thing? How could a holy God, a loving God, full of compassion, righteousness, mercy, justice, and grace create a world then allow it to devolve into total chaos and darkness?

Answer, the death – burial – resurrection of that self-same God. Will you listen to God explain this phenomenon.

Romans 3:21-26 Describes the demonstration of God’s Righteousness Through Faith.

But now the righteousness of God apart from the law is revealed, being witnessed by the Law and the Prophets, even the righteousness of God, through faith in Jesus Christ, to all and on all who believe. For there is no difference; for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, being justified freely by His grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus, whom God set forth as a propitiation by His blood, through faith, to demonstrate His righteousness, because in His forbearance God had passed over the sins that were previously committed, to demonstrate at the present time His righteousness, that He might be just and the justifier of the one who has faith in Jesus.

This transaction took place prior to creation allowing the Holy One of all creation to perfectly reveal Himself completely through His own reconciliation plan through Christ by faith in Himself, that is Jesus.

Will you now note that in order to bring life there must be a death. In order to bring hope, there must be a resurrection. In order to bring light, there must be illumination. This is the gospel preached by God in the first two verses of the scriptures. Everything that follows is the explanation of the process and plan in the wisdom of God chosen to bring these events to fruition. As it is written: Romans 11:33 - Oh, the depth of the riches both of the wisdom and knowledge of God! How unsearchable are His judgments and His ways past finding out!

Will you also notice that all these things are contingent upon the Most High god. That, my friend, is salvation. It is all the Spirit of God’s work; you and I are essentially unwilling participants.

Now let’s look at the remainder of Genesis chapter 1 from a synopsis perspective, cause and effect.

Cause:

Verses 3-5 is the gospel preached by the Holy Spirit.

Verses 6-8 is the baptism by the Holy Spirit.

Verses 9-10 is the resurrection by the Holy Spirit.

Verses 11-13 is the fruitfulness of the believer who is empowered by the Holy Spirit, who is God’s SEED that reproduces replicas of Himself (the children of God / the body of Christ).

Verses 14-19 are the believers strategically distributed throughout the world by the Holy Spirit to be light. Some shining bright like the stars @ 30%; Some shining bright like the moon @ 60%; then there are those who are fully given over to their calling by God shining like the sun @ 100% light in the world. We are all given an appointed season in an appointed place to work as ministers of God’s reconciliation plan. Reference Daniel 12:3.

Acts 17:22-27 - Addressing the Areopagus

Then Paul stood in the midst of the Areopagus and said, “Men of Athens, I perceive that in all things you are very religious; for as I was passing through and considering the objects of your worship, I even found an altar with this inscription:

TO THE UNKNOWN GOD.

Therefore, the One whom you worship without knowing, Him I proclaim to you: God, who made the world and everything in it, since He is Lord of heaven and earth, does not dwell in temples made with hands. Nor is He worshiped with men’s hands, as though He needed anything, since He gives to all life, breath, and all things. And He has made from one blood every nation of men to dwell on all the face of the earth, and has determined their preappointed times and the boundaries of their dwellings, so that they should seek the Lord, in the hope that they might grope for Him and find Him, though He is not far from each one of us;

Verses 20-23 is the effect of the witness of God’s children, fruit after its own kind that remains. Reference Daniel 11:34, Matthew 5:16, & 1 Peter 1:12

Verses 24-31 In the End, God will gather together all that He has made good after His own kind and take them to the New Heaven and the New Earth wherein dwells only righteousness.

Matthew 13:36-43 - Then Jesus sent the multitude away and went into the house. And His disciples came to Him, saying, “Explain to us the parable of the tares of the field.”

He answered and said to them: “He who sows the good seed is the Son of Man. The field is the world, the good seeds are the sons of the kingdom, but the tares are the sons of the wicked one. The enemy who sowed them is the devil, the harvest is the end of the age, and the reapers are the angels. Therefore as the tares are gathered and burned in the fire, so it will be at the end of this age. The Son of Man will send out His angels, and they will gather out of His kingdom all things that offend, and those who practice lawlessness, and will cast them into the furnace of fire. There will be wailing and gnashing of teeth. Then the righteous will shine forth as the sun in the kingdom of their Father. He who has ears to hear, let him hear!

At the End of the Ages, we enter into God’s eternal rest! All praise, honor, glory, power, might, and dominion be unto You O LORD God, King of heaven and Lord of all the earth. Hollowed, Father, be Your most glorious name and Your name alone O King of saints!

Therefore, the entirety of God’s plan is revealed to us in the first chapter of the first book, beginning with the first verse. God did not hide His reconciliation plan. No, my friend, He is unveiling it through creation and the Ages!
