The God Who Loves and Hates

The Book of Obadiah - Why God Loved Jacob and Hated Esau

Did it ever cross your mind that the God of love can hate certain people? Even before they are born. How can that be? Is it true, and why would God hate anyone? What can a person do that would cause the God of peace and love to hate them?

This is the story of two men, twins in fact, between whom the rivalry was so intense that they were fighting inside of their mother’s womb. Concerned about the welfare of her children, she inquired of the Lord to determine if there were complications with either or both.

The Lord’s response was interesting, to say the least, and surprised both parents. Would the rivalry stop at birth? If not, how intense will it become, and when will it cease? Adolescence? Puberty? Young men? Adulthood? Death? After death? They are, after all, brothers.

Whatever happened to brotherly love? Let us find out together.

Our journey commences in the beginning, no, not their beginning, in the beginning with the eternal God seeking the origin of His election. We find that a promise was given. What was this promise? Why was the promise decreed? To whom was it issued?

Along the route we visit an historical site and discovered that several descendants were kings. Who were they and over what nation? Later we discovered that the family patriarch had a secret. I wonder which type of secret. Could it be a mistress, an illegitimate child? Oh, maybe it’s a murder mystery, do tell.

While visiting the historical site it was also learned that our patriarch had a mean streak, he was a rebel at heart. What did he do to earn such reputation? Could it be a result from a marriage because there were whispers concerning a marriage from hell?

As we were concluding our journey it was revealed that our patriarch and other members of the family were sleeping with the enemies. How can that be? Whom can you trust? It’s lonesome being the king.

We finally arrive at our destination just in time to witness the purge. The purge!? What in the world is that and why is it necessary? Oh, now I see, it’s the promised restoration. Whew, I love happy endings?

America - The Judgment of Sodom and Gomorrah

America the beautiful. A country founded by people in search of religious freedom and a better way of life.

A better way of life? What were they truly seeking?

A life free from the tyranny of Monarchs, Kings, and Queens.

A life where freedom really meant freedom yet constrained by law for the common welfare of all.

A home wherein one is free to exercise the practice of worshiping the One True Living God without the condemnation of a society hell bent on declaring God to be dead.

A nation wherein one can serve the One True Living God as He leads and instructs, in private and in public, at home and at work, at play and at rest.

I knew a place like that, once upon a time. Many gave her the nicknames like, the great experiment and the great melting pot. We knew her as America the Beautiful who proudly proclaimed, in God We Trust.

Where did she go? What befell her? What will become of her?

Many have enquired about the United States of America’s status during the biblical end times prophecy. Mainly, where does she fit within God’s plan for the final seven years of human rule history on the earth as outlined in the biblical books of Daniel and Revelation. This biblical period is called by several names: The Day of the Lord, Jacob’s Trouble, The Tribulation / Great Tribulation.

Is America mentioned by name?

What will be America’s role?

Will America continue to be the sole “superpower” during the tribulation years?

If America is not mentioned, does this mean that she is no longer a nation, no longer a “superpower”? What happened to her?

Let us investigate the most likely faith of America, the Beautiful.

The Chastisement of the Lord: How God Respond when Christians Sin

Many believers struggle in their daily walk with the Lord. Life happens because we are in the world, yet not of it. Pilgrims, strangers, and sheep commanded to follow the Chief Shepard wherever He leads us. Along this path, the straight and narrow path, aligned with difficulties as the Lord prepares the table before us in the presence of our enemies. Then there are the natural sorrows accompanying a sin-plagued world hurling at light speed to its destruction.
The Lord Jesus testified of these things, declaring, “the kingdom of heaven suffers violence, and the violent take it by force.” Thus, prophesying of the difficulties his children and servants will have in this fallen sin-stained world as we press forward in the kingdom of heaven.
In our frailties and moments of weakness, even we succumb to the dictates of our flesh or the temptations of the enemy.
What does our Lord see? What does He know? How will He respond when I go astray? Can I be restored? Will I be restored? When, O Lord, will you come to my rescue?
Are you searching for the answer to these questions? Do you have a brother or sister in Christ who feels alienated from our Lord? Then look inside because the answer to these questions and much more are discussed and explained in great detail.
In Part One—Connecting the Chain Links, we enter the time machine to attend a wedding in ancient Israel, then walk with Jesus as He romances His bride. We enter heaven to attend His wedding and mingle with the wedding guests as our Lord executes His judgments upon the wicked nations. Then we see her, our heavenly abode, the New Jerusalem sparkling from the glory of our Father.
In Part Two—The Seeker of Lost Sheep, the Chief Shepard identifies His own, seeks out those who have gone astray, lovingly binding their wounds, restoring, refreshing, and releasing them back into the fold.
In Part Three—From Milk to Meat, we meet the perfect candidate. Will he come to the Shepard? Then we journey through the hunted forest dressed in the whole armor of our God. Will we win; will we press forward; will it make us stronger?
In Part Four—The Final Link in the Chain, we witness the Chief Shepard inspecting the sheep with His rod and staff as they leave the sheepfold. Those who return muddy have their feet washed, but those who returned intoxicated were sent home. The Chief Shepard gently calls the remaining sheep to teach them how to return to the fold with their wool white and clean. “He that hath an ear let him hear.”
