To whom is Jesus referring in Revelation 1:6. Unto God and his father. The (and) part is confusing
Today I am addressing Allen question concerning the Lord Jesus Christ and God the Father:
This isn't a difficult statement to understand if you align the scriptures. I'll just give a few.
24 God is Spirit, and those who worship Him must worship in spirit and truth."
John 4:24
God, who is a Spirit, is invisible. None of His creation has ever seen nor will ever see Him in Spirit form.
17 Now to the King eternal, immortal, INVISIBLE, to God who alone is wise, be honor and glory forever and ever. Amen. 1 Timothy 1:17
27 By faith he forsook Egypt, not fearing the wrath of the king; for he endured as seeing Him who is invisible. Hebrews 11:27
37 And the Father Himself, who sent Me, has testified of Me. You have neither heard His voice at any time, nor seen His form. John 5:37
But Jesus claimed to have seen the Father. How can both be true?
46 Not that anyone has seen the Father, except He who is from God; He has seen the Father. John 6:46
18 No one has seen God at any time. The only begotten Son, who is in the bosom of the Father, He has declared (revealed) Him. John 1:18
The question then is who did the angels see sitting on the throne. They saw the veil and temple of God, the Man Jesus Christ.
16 And without controversy great is the mystery of godliness: GOD WAS MANIFESTED IN THE FLESH, justified in the Spirit, SEEN BY ANGELS, preached among the Gentiles, believed on in the world, received up in glory. 1 Timothy 3:16
it pleased the Father THAT IN HIM ALL THE FULLNESS (OF THE GODHEAD) should dwell (IN HIS HUMAN BODY), 20 and by Him to reconcile all things to Colossians 1:19
Every human is born into this world with a human spirit which is the "real" person inside the body made from the dust.
8 But there is a spirit in man, and the breath of the Almighty gives him understanding.
Job 32:8
1 The burden of the word of the LORD against Israel. Thus says the LORD, who stretches out the heavens, lays the foundation of the earth, and FORMS (CREATES) THE SPIRIT OF MAN WITHIN HIM: Zechariah 12:1
What does this mean? It simply means that if I see your body, I am really seeing the human spirit inside the body. I am speaking to the human spirit inside the body. It is your human spirit instructing your soul (conscience) and body. Hence it can be said that if I have seen your body, I have seen your human spirit.
This is what Jesus meant when He said, 7 "If you had known Me, you would have known My Father also; and from now on you know Him and have seen Him." John 14:7
9 Jesus said to him, "Have I been with you so long, and yet you have not known Me, Philip? He who has seen Me has seen the Father; so how can you say, 'Show us the Father'? 10 Do you not believe that I am in the Father, and the Father in Me? The words that I speak to you I do not speak on My own authority; but the Father who dwells in Me does the works. 11 Believe Me that I am in the Father and the Father in Me, or else believe Me for the sake of the works themselves. John 14:9-11
The Godhead (Father, Son, Holy Spirit as One God in Spirit) is the human Spirit of the man Jesus Christ.
19 that is, that GOD WAS IN CHRIST reconciling the world to Himself, not imputing their trespasses to them, and has committed to us the word of reconciliation.
2 Corinthians 5:19
Listen to Proverbs 8, this isn't Solomon speaking. It is the Lord Jesus Christ. God was in possession of the body of the Man "in the beginning". Then created the world through this Man according to Psalms 113 and Phil. 2:1-6.
22 "The LORD possessed me at the beginning of His way,
Before His works of old.
23 I have been established from everlasting,
From the beginning, before there was ever an earth.
24 When there were no depths I was brought forth,
When there were no fountains abounding with water.
25 Before the mountains were settled,
Before the hills, I was brought forth;
26 While as yet He had not made the earth or the fields,
Or the primal dust of the world.
27 When He prepared the heavens, I was there,
When He drew a circle on the face of the deep,
28 When He established the clouds above,
When He strengthened the fountains of the deep,
29 When He assigned to the sea its limit,
So that the waters would not transgress His command,
When He marked out the foundations of the earth,
30 Then I was beside Him as a master craftsman;
And I was daily His delight,
Rejoicing always before Him,
31 Rejoicing in His inhabited world,
And my delight was with the sons of men. Proverbs 8:22-31
Jesus Christ is the GodMan! When we all stand before the Most High God to give an account for our lives, we will see one throne, and one person seated upon that throne, the Man Christ Jesus the Lord God Omnipotent - the Almighty. All hail the Great King and Savior the Lord Jesus Christ, the great, the mighty, the terrible God, the Lord of Hosts is His name!
33 Oh, the depth of the riches both of the wisdom and knowledge of God! How unsearchable are His judgments and His ways past finding out!
34 "For who has known the mind of the LORD?
Or who has become His counselor?"
35 "Or who has first given to Him
And it shall be repaid to him?"
36 For of Him and through Him and to Him are all things, to whom be glory forever. Amen. Romans 11:33-36
